By day, The Get Down in Baltimore’s thriving Fells Point is a mild-mannered happy hour lounge with modern decor, comfortable booth seating, and plenty of room to kick back with a brew and some friends from Union Wharf. By night, it transforms into a two-floor dance house with DJs playing and energetic throngs of revelers looking for a good time.
Music and movement are the most important aspects of the atmosphere at this nightlife spot. That said, the music — spun by regular performers like DJ Harry Hotter — is familiar enough to get everybody moving, but not so cliche as to be like a high school dance. VIP service and table reservations are available for order on the website, which also lists the upcoming special events and parties. There’s a small cover charge (waived if you show up early or use one of the club’s many promotions), and drinks are half price before 10:30 p.m.
