“Cozy,” “intimate,” and “charming” are a few of the adjectives used to describe Le Comptoir du Vin, and they’re all accurate. The newly debuted restaurant feels almost like a family dining room, a mix of whitewashed wooden slats and exposed brick on the walls, with a handwritten dinner menu on a small chalkboard.
The tapas-style is relatively small, just like the space, but it still showcases a wide variety of upscale bites. Try the popular celery salad with currants, pistachio, and colatura. Taste the pappardelle with salsa di noci and pancetta. Enjoy the garlicky clams with herbs and grilled bread. Round out your meal of small plates with a glass or bottle of fine wine and a light dessert, perhaps the half-wheel of camembert cheese with persimmon preserves or the maple tart.
