Bringing Baltimore Home

bringing baltimore homeStaying connected to our city and community is especially important during this time of distancing. To help, we’ve gathered this list of some virtual events and opportunities to bring some of your Baltimore favorites right to your home at Union Wharf.

Learn Something New

Now is a great time to pick up a new skill or hobby! KSM Candle Co. is hosting a Virtual Candlemaking course! Once you sign up, KSM will send you a kit with all of the supplies you need for the event, including your choice from a wide range of scents, like Lavender Vanilla, Avocado Cilantro or Watermelon Sugar. At the time of the workshop, the experts at KSM will lead a tutorial so that you can create your very own candle.

Want to sharpen your foodie skills? Try a Take Home Bagel Making Kit from THB Bagelry + Deli and enjoy your favorite breakfast (or anytime) treat from home. Just place an order online here. The kit includes your selection of 8 pre-made, uncooked bagels, .5 lbs of cream cheese, and variety of bagel seed toppings. Then, just bake and enjoy!

A great way to bring the outdoors into your space is through greenery. You can purchase a kit from Flowers and Fancies that includes everything you need to make your own indoor succulent garden.

Have A Night “Out” In

One fun way to bring the fun of a night out home (and to avoid the same old Zoom happy hour) is by participating in a trivia night. Charm City Trivia’s Virtual Trivia night is every night Tuesday through Sunday. Check out their website for times and registration information. Mr. Nice Guy Cocktails is also offering trivia on Saturday night. Just place an order from them anytime Friday or Saturday and you will be sent the info you need to play.

Trivia not your thing? Mr. Nice Guy also has Bingo Night every Thursday at 7pm. Just place an order anytime between Sunday-Thursday and they will deliver your Bingo card via email so you can play along.

You also don’t want to miss this virtual scavenger hunt on Saturday, May 9th. Purchase of a ticket gets your team access to 30 virtual challenges and proceeds will be donated to charity. Plus, there’s prizes!

Want to order some food to enjoy during the fun? Check out our list of local restaurants that are offering curbside pick-up and/or delivery!

Healthy Habits

Spend some of your extra down time giving back to our community with Volunteering Untapped Baltimore. They are hosting a day of volunteer activities on Saturday, May 9th. Opportunities include face mask sewing, card-making, census calls and neighborhood clean-ups, so there is something for everyone!

It’s important to take care of your health during this time. Give back to your body by taking some time to exercise. They say it only takes 21 days to form a habit, so start now and reap the rewards later! Here are some great online fitness class options to turn your apartment into your very own gym.

If you attend any of these events in your home at Union Wharf, share your photos with us by tagging us on social media. We hope you are staying safe and healthy!
