Add a Little Spice to Your Life on National Fajita Day

National Fajita Day

National Fajita Day is Tuesday, August 18th. Did you know that in 1971, the word “fajita” used to define the dish officially appeared in the Oxford English Dictionary for the first time? However, people have been enjoying this flavorful, fantastic dish since the early 1930s, when Mexican workers in Texas created it—it’s been a staple ever since!

Local Baltimore Restaurants Featuring Fajitas!
Chilangos in Fell’s Point is known for their incredible fajitas, and, best of all, they’re just steps away from your home at Union Wharf! That means you’re only a short walk away from incredible modern Mexican-American cuisine, but you’re sure to feel like you’re on vacation in the gorgeous cantina-style dining room! They serve big portions of delicious classics like burritos, quesadillas, tacos, and of course, fajitas. The shrimp fajitas in particular are a true crowd-pleaser: juicy pieces of fresh shrimp served on flour tortillas with rice, beans, sour cream and pico de gallo. Pair it with a refreshing cocktail, like a premium margarita or Mexican Mule for a perfect summer dinner.

The stars align: Nacho Mamas’ fajita day special just so happens to fall on a Tuesday, so it’s sure to be a great place to spend the holiday. Located nearby in Canton, Nacho Mamas has a huge menu with something for everyone. They have great apps, like nachos loaded with heaps of awesome toppings, great drinks, and traditional dishes with a modern twist.

If you’re headed downtown, check out R&R Taqueria—as seen on Food Network! We love their carne asada, served in a fajita-style presentation.

Every day, Blue Agave in Federal Hill serves up sauces, salsas and guacamole made in-house for maximum freshness. For Fajita Day, you can choose from carne asada (steak), grilled pollo (chicken), or camarones (shrimp). Or, get the best of both worlds with a combo platter! All fajitas are served with lettuce, pico de gallo, jack cheese, lime crema, flour tortillas, sautéed onions and peppers, agave rice and black beans. Yum!

We hope you have a wonderful meal! Don’t forget to share photos of your Fajita Day fiesta with us on Instagram, @unionwharf.
