Labor Day Fun Not Too Far From Baltimore

LDW

Union Wharf residents, you may be wondering why Monday, September 6, is a day off work. Labor Day is a national holiday celebrating the contributions and achievements of American workers. During the Industrial Revolution, the average American was working 12 hour days. Ever since then, September 6th has been dedicated for rest and fun for all our hard-working citizens.

There are many fun ways to celebrate and enjoy this long, holiday weekend, all not too far from your home at Union Wharf.

Wine Lovers, check this out!
Thought to be one of the first Americans to experiment with winemaking, Thomas Jefferson and his home, Charlottesville, is a great place to spend Labor Day Weekend. There are about 40 (yes, 40!) wineries within a 25 miles radius of Charlottesville. At Afton Mountain Vineyards, you can spend the night after a long day of beautiful views, delectable wine, and scrumptious foods. About 3.5 hours from your home, dabble in different museums and history, shopping, golfing and hiking, and much much more in Charlottesville.
