Celebrating National Drink Beer Day in Baltimore

National Drink Beer Day

Yes, you read that correctly—National Drink Beer Day is in fact a holiday! Every year on September 28, beer connoisseurs and more partake by visiting breweries, trying new brews, and of course, drinking great beer!

Union Wharf residents, if you are looking to celebrate this holiday with friends and family, look no further! Here in Baltimore, there are all kinds of breweries with different beers, lagers, ales, and IPAs in all different atmospheres and ambiances.

Where to Get the Best Beer in Baltimore
Monument City Brewery is located in the appropriately named Brewer’s Hill, only about a 10-minute drive from your home at Union Wharf. Founded by two brothers, this family-owned brewery creates some of the best ales and lagers, like Gnarly Shredder and Folk Fest, in all of Maryland. In fact, you can bring your dog to accompany you while you celebrate this marvelous day.

Mobtown Brewing Company likes to be known as your neighborhood brewery. Their fresh, adventurous, and innovative flavors will spice up your palate this National Drink Beer Day! Although it is closed on the 28, Mobtown Brewing is worth waiting for. Visit on a Wednesday through Sunday to taste their Hammock District IPA, Kitties ‘n’ Beer sour-fruited, or 41 Year Lapse pale ale-American.

Union Craft Brewing has its home in Hampden. Released only 14 days ago, take a sip of their new Foxy IPA, which features four different kinds of hops. Their emphasis on the perfect balance between ingredients, along with creative naming, makes the beer drinking experience at Union Craft Brewing one-of-a-kind.

Who doesn’t love homemade pizza and specialty beer? Diamondback Beer is prepped and ready to serve you canned or bottled beer and delicious pizzas at their brewery this September 28th. Transatlantic is an oak-fermented English mild, Green Machine is an IPA, and Little Pools of Light is an urban wild ale with cherries… sounds tasty, right?

This classic European-style pub, Guilford Hall Brewery, is a great place to spend National Drink Beer Day! Hand-crafted lagers and beers, like lemon shandy and Vienna-lager, are derived from authentic Bavarian brewing traditions. Grab a quick bite from the brewpub menu and enjoy all kinds of distinct flavors here at Guilford Hall Brewery.

Known for their great service, live music weekends, delectable food, and stellar brews, Full Tilt Brewing is ready to serve you, your friends and family this September 28. Small plates like Cheesesteak Eggrolls, or Cauliflower wings, pair amazingly with their countless beers on tap! If you are not much of a beer drinker but want to take part in this holiday, there are plenty of wines, seltzers, and cocktails available as well!

Ministry of Brewing is open for indoor and outdoor service! Make sure to arrive ahead of time, as they do not take reservations. Located inside the newly restored St. Michael’s Church, their rotating beers on tap will blow you away!

Checkerspot Brewing Co. wants you to enjoy their beer right where it was made! If you have a sensitive stomach, do not fret! Checkerspot treats their beers to reduce gluten limits as well. Their menu makes it easy to try new things because it is organized into three categories: Hop Lovers, the Lighter Side, and Malt Forward.
