With the holiday season upon us, festive events are abundant in Baltimore, all not too far from your home here at Union Wharf. From shopping adventures to music-filled evenings, there are multiple events that are the perfect way to continue to celebrate the ongoing holiday season. Take a look at the many options below and start marking the dates in your calendar for a booked and festive December. 

Holiday Markets

Don’t Know Tavern First Annual Holiday Sip and Shop

On Saturday the 11th, stop by Don’t Know Tavern’s holiday market in Federal Hill! With local small businesses bringing holiday cheer to Baltimore, celebrate with some brunch and drinks as you peruse a variety of vendors. From Pandora’s Box Boutique offering selections of jewelry, to Whiffeney selling wax melts, you will find a splendid array of gift options!

Canton Holiday Market

Join a group of local artisans on December 11th to view their beautifully crafted gifts, perfect for the holidays. Located in Church on the Square in Canton, find new seasonal favorites made by locals. From plants, to candles, to stained glass creations, unique gifts are more than abundant at this holiday market. 

SoBotanical Holiday Bazaar

Located in Hampden, join SoBotanical in bringing the festivities to you. On December 12th, not only will you find amazing gift options sold by local vendors, but you can also celebrate the season by sitting by a warm fire pit and sipping on some hot mulled wine. With its perfect location, you have multiple options to enjoy a nice meal or a drink after you finish checking off your holiday gift list! 

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Santa’s Southeast Neighborhood Ride

Starting in Highlandtown on December 18th at 3pm, Santa is taking a trip around Baltimore. Visit one of the designated locations listed on the Facebook page to get a sneak peek of Santa before he returns to the North Pole to prepare for the holidays! 

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

On the night of Friday, December 17th, you might just be able to catch a glimpse of Santa in Riverside Park from 5-7pm. Although his route has not been disclosed yet, the elves have given word to keep your eye out for Mr. Claus in the area. 

A Caroling We Go

51st Annual East Baltimore Christmas Caroling

At the Polish Home Club in Fell’s Point on December 23rd, prepare for a fun night of caroling. More details of the event will be provided soon, but mark the date in your calendar as this is an event you cannot miss.  

Christmas Caroling in Riverside

Join the Catholic Community of South Riverside at the Riverside Gazebo on Friday, December 17th for some holiday caroling. Once the cold begins to nip at your nose after caroling, join the community for some cookies and hot cocoa later that night. And the best part — you might just see Santa Claus doing his rounds in preparation for the season!

Christmas Village in Baltimore

Visit the Christmas Village of your dreams this holiday season, right here in Baltimore! On December 11th in the Inner Harbor, enjoy an evening at an authentic German Christmas market. With over 50 small businesses offering food, drinks, and gifts, you’ll feel like you’re living in a Hallmark movie! To see the best holiday charm and get yourself into the holiday spirit, the Christmas Village is here!

Candy Cane Lane

Your sweet tooth will leap for joy at Candy Lane in Downtown Baltimore. With its candy-themed experience, stroll your way through a candy forest, or stop and marvel at the 24-feet tall ice cream cones. With sweets and other savory treats being offered by vendors and food trucks, Candy Lane will make you feel like a kid in a candy shop. Weekly program schedules run from Wednesday-Sundays, giving you a variety of times to visit or go back for seconds! 

A Christmas Carol 

Presented by the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, A Christmas Carol comes to life before your eyes in Downtown Baltimore. This animated and classic book brings the holiday spirit (as well as the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future), to Victorian Baltimore every Friday-Saturday night until Christmas. For a night your kids will remember, reserve your tickets online to ensure you can see Dickins’ classic story vibrantly created in front of your eyes. 

Winter Village

On late afternoons, from Friday through Sunday until January 2021, check out the Winter Village in Harbor East, hosted by the Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore. With their outdoor skating rink, see the views of the city skyline on an ambient and festive rooftop. Private cabanas will also be available, allowing families and small groups to cozy in together with some fuzzy blankets and a warm fireplace, on top of mouth-watering holiday treats. For a comfortable and homey celebration, Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore has created the perfect ambiance this holiday season. 

Holiday Entertainment

Ring in the Holidays at the Senator

On Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th, visit the Senator Theatre in Belvedere for a viewing of the classic It’s a Wonderful Life. With Hollywood classics including James Stuart and Donna Reed, bring back the traditional holiday sentiment with the beloved film. Holiday music will be played both before and after the screening at 9am to create the perfect ambient atmosphere that embodies the holidays! 

Interactive Movie Night: Die Hard

Whoever says Die Hard isn’t a holiday movie has no idea what they’re talking about. That’s why Creative Alliance is screening Die Hard on December 10th in Highlandtown to bring one of the best holiday films to you. With interactive features, including games and audience participation, and the option to win gifts, the holidays have never been more exciting. Join Monument City Brewing Company, located in Highlandtown, on December 11th for music and drinks. Winter Fest at Max’s Taphouse

While you are up and waiting for Santa’s arrival on the night of December 24th, spend some time at Max’s Taphouse in Fells Point for seasonal ales and fresh drafts. With festive-themed brews, including Alpha Klaus and Fuggly Sweater, the holidays have never tasted so good. 

Cocktails and Candy Canes

Between December 17th and December 24th, Five and Dime Ale House in Hampden offers you fun and festive drinks. With an ugly sweater party on December 18th, come prepared to show up in your worst holiday attire for the chance to win a Tito’s Homemade Vodka ugly sweater and a gift card for the Five and Dime Ale House! If you have a competitive personality and a taste for ugly sweaters, the Cocktails and Candy Canes event is perfect for you. 

Adult Sleigh Ride

Hosted by Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, near Medford, journey on an exciting Brew Tour as they prepare for the holiday season. On December 11th, you will travel through Sagamore Spirit Distillery, Guinness Open Gate Brewery, Heavy Seas, and Checkerspot Brewing Company to get an exclusive look inside each of these amazing businesses. With snacks and refreshments offered on a coach bus, on top of the samples offered at each stop, you won’t forget this festive event. 

Baltimore Santa Crawl

For a night full of drinks and bar hopping, the Baltimore Santa Crawl on December 18th takes place in Fells Point. With DJs, all-day drink specials, raffles, and more, bring your friends for an evening out on the town with over 10 bars-worth of fun. 

Historic Holiday Tour

36th Annual Union Square Cookie Tour of Historic Homes

Beginning in 1985, the Union Square Association has spent the past 36 years welcoming guests to an afternoon of visiting the stunning historic homes of Baltimore, with the bonus of getting homemade cookies as a treat. On December 12th at 12pm, view the historic architecture of Baltimore during the peak of the holiday season for a cozy and awe-worthy afternoon.
