Cinco de Mayo the Baltimore Way

Did you know that only 10 percent of the American population knows the reason for cheap margaritas and cheese dip on May 5th? Cinco De Mayo isn’t just about partying. This day is celebrated annually to mark the resilience of the Mexican people during the Franco-Mexican War in 1862. May 5th dates back to the historic Mexican victory over France during the Battle of Puebla. Celebrate the strength, resilience, and power of the Mexican people facing off invaders this Cinco De Mayo.

Union Wharf residents, if you have not heard or visited the wonderful Chilangos, now is your chance! Just a few steps away from your home, the perfect Cinco De Mayo celebration awaits! With their modern Mexican-American cuisine, experience all the finest flavors and spices on this special day.

Fiesta Time

The Margarita Festival, at Power Plant Live, opens at 11 am for VIP members, and 12 for the general public! Enjoy live entertainment of all kinds, including pro wrestling, and authentic Mexican food trucks, while sipping on the most delicious margarita!

Take your party to the water on the Cinco De Mayo Sunset Cruise. With tequila tastings, cocktails, and snacks, you and your 21+ friends will have a blast on May 5th on this outing!

Los Hermanos Tequila Party, hosted by RMYKS Bar and Grille, is offering complimentary tastings of their award-winning tequilas. Reposado old fashions, tequila sunrises, and margaritas are on the menu!

With their live Mariachi Band, Maximón is transforming into CDMX for the ultimate party. The festivities begin at 6 pm and continue until 10 pm. With drink specials from their mixologists, exciting food presentations and carving stations, and DJ, come ready to celebrate at Maximón.

Celebrate Differently

What better way to drink margaritas with no guilt and no shame than attending the Miles and Margaritas Pub Run? Meet up at Charm City at 6:30pm to start your 1-mile loop. Then enjoy some tacos and drinks at Vida Taco post-workout!

Schola also has opportunities for you to create your own authentic Mexican cuisine this May 5th. Cook these classic dishes: Ceviche, Elote Dip, Chipotle Chicken Tamales, braised beef tacos, and sopapillas with chocolate and powdered sugar.
