Think Pink This October

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM). To maximize efforts against breast cancer rates, the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. (NBCF) is leading Project RISE. Through the campaign, NBCF is spreading awareness and highlighting the importance of regular breast cancer screenings. They’re also aspiring to foster support services for all women. Amplify your voice this month and join the fight against breast cancer.

Join Union in the Fight

Union Wharf is partnering with The Brem Foundation, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to help women detect breast cancer early when they will have the best chance for survival. All month long, we will be collecting #PenniesforPink. The proceeds will be donated directly to The Brem Foundation. This month, we will hold breast cancer awareness events planned every Wednesday in the main office.

Here’s how to raise awareness right here in Baltimore:

Spread Empowerment

On Thursday, October 13th, Urban Axes is hosting their Bullseye to Battle Breast Cancer at 7:00 p.m. Half of the ticket sales will fund breast cancer research, support services, and screenings. Join them for a night of axe-throwing and delicious eats and drinks.

Take Action

Make strides against breast cancer with Brown Girls International’s walk on Saturday, October 22nd, at 8:00 a.m. Walkers will meet at Camden Yards.

The Janet Hall Foundation is hosting its 14th Annual Pampering Pink Survivors fundraiser on Saturday, October 22nd, at 11:00 a.m. Patrons may enjoy massages and nail services at the Marriott. If unable to attend in person, guests can join the live stream. Donations are encouraged for breast cancer awareness and research.

Build Community

Bondhouse in Fells Point is throwing its second annual Halloween bash to celebrate BCAM. The party begins at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28th.

Foster Hope

Luke McFadden and Jimmy’s Famous Seafood are teaming up to host their annual BreastFeast Crab Fest on Sunday, October 30th, at 1:00 p.m. Patrons will enjoy unlimited steamed crabs, beers, and an extensive buffet with potatoes and sweet corn. The ticket proceeds will go to breast cancer research and support.

We hope that you will join us in honoring those who have been affected by breast cancer this month and beyond.
