Halloween 2023 in Baltimore
Halloween

October means crisp air, changing leaves, and spooky fun, and there is no better place to experience all three of these than Baltimore! The city has plenty of fun activities for Union Wharf residents to enjoy this month, so whether you’re looking for a night of costume partying, or an evening of arts & crafts, Baltimore has something for you this Halloween.

Spooky With a Side of Science

If you’re looking to experiment with ghoulishly glowing lights, cast spine-tingling shadows, and use elasticity to launch creepy catapults, then come visit the Maryland Science Center’s Spooky Science event on October 21! All of these fun activities are free with the cost of admission and completely free if you are a member.

Also in Federal Hill is the American Visionary Art Museum, which is hosting its own spooky, after-hours Free Fall Halloween Celebration. Create your own spooky house or mini monster on October 26 at this annual event!

Fall is For Outdoor Fun

On October 21, Patterson Park will host the 2023 Great Halloween Lantern Parade & Festival, featuring a packed, all-day schedule of events. During the day, enjoy a costume contest, lantern making, and some arts & crafts, and stick around at night to watch the magical lantern parade to the tune of beautiful music!

For those looking for an active Halloween, join the Baltimore Bike Party on October 27, highlighted by a costumed bike ride through the city. Follow up this invigorating ride with an afterparty at Union Craft Brewing at the Union Collective featuring delicious beers, wine, coffee, cocktails, and food.

On October 28, Ottobar will host their Halloween Market, featuring 30+ vendors and Halloween-themed cocktails! Come to Ottobar to make this event’s fourth year the best one yet.

Celebrate the spookiest time of the year at the Maryland Zoo for the 40th annual Zoo Boo, an event full of games, prizes, contests, live entertainment, and trick-or-treating. Taking place October 28 & 29, this event is fun for all ages and includes a fully decorated Jones Falls Zephyr Train Route!

Creepy Crafts

On October 28, the Pariah Brewing Company is hosting the Sugar Skulls Workshop, an event to let your artistic side out as you paint vibrant sugar skulls. Discover the fascinating history and cultural significance of sugar skulls in Mexico as you decorate your skull with icing, sequins, and other embellishments. Take your skull home as a memorable keepsake or as a creative gift.

Bone Chilling Brunch

Get in the Halloween spirit by checking out Halloween Brunch on Point at The Point in Fells on October 29. This festive brunch is a great time for all ages, and kids in costume eat free! Dress to impress and enjoy a scarily delicious meal.

(Costume) Party the Night Away

Kick off your Halloweekend by checking out the Halloweekend Open Bar at Barcocina. On October 28, beginning at 10pm, bring your best costume and enjoy an open bar for only $40!

If you’re looking to party on a yacht (who isn’t?), come to Baltimore Halloween at the Black Pearl Yacht Party Cruise on October 28! VIP Nightlife & BAL Nightlife bring you a vibrant event with three decks and 2 live DJs. Come dressed up ready to show off your costume, drink, and dance the night away.

On October 26 at Power Plant Live, Smirnoff presents the Halloween Rally: Glow Edition! This high energy event will include EDM music, along with bar games, confetti cannons, and more. Don’t lose your chance to get tickets to this can’t miss event.

Sometimes one bar just isn’t enough. On October 28, join the Baltimore Halloween Bar Crawl at Fells Point for a spooktacular party like no other. The event will include 10+ bars, as well as DJs, live music, and drink specials!

Square dancing and Halloween may not be a commonly seen duo, but the Spooky Square Dance & Haunted Honky Tonk at BMI on October 27 dares to combine the two into a night of old school fun. Two-step to your heart’s delight as you enjoy food and drink and overlook Baltimore City. Doors open at 6, so bring your costume and your best dancin’ boots!
