It’s a new year, new you! So, we hope that you have been taking action to accomplish all of your New Year’s resolutions.

Do your resolutions involve health and wellness? If so, Union Wharf wants to tell you that it doesn’t have to be boring—you don’t have to stay inside all-winter-long and meal prep! You can go out to eat with friends, family, or even just yourself.

Here are some healthier alternatives and nutrient-dense items from your local favorites.

Our Neighbor, Chilangos
Eat healthy while eating out! Besides, Chilango’s is right next-door, so it’s the perfect place to go out without having to feel the winter cold for too long.

Besides the cantina and fun vibes, their modern Mexican-American cuisine is drool-worthy. However, some menu items may be high in carbohydrates and fat. So, check out their Salads, the Salmon al Mojo de Ajo, and the Chicken Fajitas without the flour tortillas or sour cream.

Where Else Can I Go?

Ampersea
Ampera serves delectable modern dishes with fresh and local ingredients! Here are some “health conscious” items from their Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner Menus!

For Brunch/Lunch: Raw Oysters, Steamed Shrimp, Harvest Salad, Marconi’s Chop Salad without croutons and dressing on the side, and the Stuffed Pepper with quinoa.

For Dinner: Quinoa & Vegetable Stew, Stuffed Pepper, and Pan Seared Scallops with the sauce on the side.

Bertha’s is known for its mussels and well…they’re not bad! Mussels are high in protein, high in Vitamins A & B12, and low in fat! Since they’re naturally low in calories, you can splurge with a bit of their sauces!

Darbar
Darbar’s Indian cuisine can be healthy, but you have to know what to look out for. Avoid fried foods, unnecessary carbs, and saturated fats with their spicy Chana Masala, Bhindi Ki Sabzi, or Tandoori Chicken or Shrimp.

Watch-out for creams and butters in their Masala and Korma dishes.

Need something fresh on-the-go? Try one of their deliciously healthy juices! Their juices utilize refreshing fruits, flu-fighting ginger, activated charcoal, and lean greens.

Recommended: Swap out the typical burger patty for a turkey burger or one of the vegetarian patties and try a lettuce bun! Definitely skip the alcoholic milkshake for now.

The Point In Fells
The Point uses fresh ingredients, so try their Grilled and Romaine & Veggie salad, which is rich with antioxidants and minerals and be syre ti get the delectable Rosemary Dijon Caesar on the side, or opt for Balsamic instead.
